22nd & 23rd November 2008 – “EQUINE COLIC SEMINAR” at Madras Veterinary College, was conducted jointly by the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University (CVM, MSU) and Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS). The inaugural function on 22nd November 2008 was preceded by the former vice chancellor Dr. V.Gnana Prakasam as the chief guest. Dr. Christopher Brown gave the introductory speech and explained why is this seminar conducted and how it will proceed. Dr. V.Gnana prakasam in his guest speech gave a lot of insight about the history of veterinary medicine in the country and about the equine veterinary care dating back to Ashoka’s time. The present vice chancellor Dr. P.Thanga raju on his speech briefed about the joint venture of TANUVAS with MSU, and also touched about the importance of equines and their care in the armed forces of our country. And the vote of thanks was given by the director of clinics Dr. D.Kathiresan.

30th September 2008 – About 40 members of the IAEP met and COL (Dr) RAJA RAM YADAV, Director, Remount Veterinary Services, Headquarters, Southern Command, Pune spoke on the subject of “CONTROL MEASURES FOR PERVENTION OF EHV ABORTION IN MARES” with a very detailed power point presentation, (which is available for download).
